Make a tanning mistake?

When you first start using a sunless tanning lotion you might make a mistake and get some someplace you don’t want it to be (like on the palms of your hands, for example). You can remove sunless tanning lotion fairly easily.

Here’s how:

Tanning lotions work when the DHA (dihydroxyacetone) in the product reacts with the amino acids in your skin, which gives you a nice, sun-tanned glow. If you get the lotion somewhere you don’t want it to be, you can use baking soda or hydrogen peroxide to help remove it.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is a great, inexpensive way to exfoliate your skin. Use it weekly if your skin is sensitive or twice a week if you have problem-skin. Just sprinkle a little in the palm of your hand and add water to make a paste. Use it to scrub wherever you want to fade your tan. (You can use it before applying your indoor tanning lotion, too, to bare pristine skin ready for a tan.)

Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is a natural bleach and it’s a great stain remover. Just dab it on with a washcloth or cotton ball, leave it for about a minute than wipe it away using a damp cloth. It may take a bit of time for you to see the difference — the bleaching action needs time to work.
