When celebrities turn orange

I know it’s not nice but I like reading the celebrity gossip blogs. Maybe it’s petty but hearing that even the rich and famous have their bad days makes me feel just a little bit better about my own fashion blunders!

In my daily travels, I ran across this page of Celebrity Fake Tanning Disasters. Oh. My. God. Disaster is right! Don’t people like Christina Aguilera and Zac Efron have mirrors? If you want to avoid their mistakes (and trust me — you do!) then remember these tips for effective application of sunless tanning lotion:

• Make sure you rub the lotion into every bit of skin that shows — that includes your hairline, Christina! You’ll look like you’re wearing a mask if you don’t extend the lotion past your hairline.
• Exfoliate first. (I’m looking at you Ashley Olsen!) If you want a smooth, natural-looking tan, you need to make sure your skin is clean and clear before applying your lotion.
• Pick a color that works for your hair and skin tone. You don’t want to end up matching your dye-job a la Jessica Simpson. If you need help choosing the right sunless tanner, contact us. It’s what we’re here for! (Seriously!)
• Less is more, Brooke Hogan! But c’mon, look at her make-up! Wouldn’t you expect someone with that much eye shadow wouldn’t know when to say when?

Of course some celebrities have beautiful tans and they deserve a shout out! Look to Jessica Biel, Heide Klum, Jennifer Aniston and Rebecca Romijn for examples.
