“Why should I use a patch test?”

If you're new here, I would love for you to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for checking us out!

We recommend that folks do a patch test anytime they’re trying out a new sunless tanner. Just a apply a small amount of tanner on the inside of your arm, follow the directions for how long you leave on or apply, and then check out the results.

This is a good idea for two reasons:

  1. It gives you a heads up if the tanning lotion causes an allergic reaction. Even though all tanning lotions work basically the same way, they use different ingredients and scents. If you have sensitive skin, it’s especially important to test new lotions before you use them on your whole body.
  2. It lets you know how quickly that particular tanning lotion is going to work for you and what color you’ll get from the results.

Remember you can always email us and ask us what the ingredients are in any lotion we carry. You can also ask us for recommendations. We’re happy to help you choose the lotion that will work best with your skin type, lifestyle and tanning needs.
